Fundraising Director

 The nature of our fundraising goals requires that on a monthly basis the Fundraising Director shall assemble the fundraising committee to plan, schedule, prepare and execute fundraising projects and/ or event(s). Prior fundraising experience and success with a nonprofit organization is preferred.


The responsibilities of the Fundraising Director shall include:

  • Establish the overall fundraising plan for the year and direct the activities to meet the plan.
  • Develop a fundraising calendar for the year (forwarded to the Corps Director/Administrator).
  • Recruit volunteers for the Fundraising Committee.
  • Work with the Corps Director/Administrator to establish the financial goals for the year.
  • Create a presentation that shows exactly what the money will be used for.
  • Communicate regularly with the Corps Director/Administrator, and provide status of all fundraising projects.
  • Communicate with prospective Donors and Sponsors.
  • Respond to grants in a timely manner.
  • Give monthly updates to Corps Director/Administrator on status of all fundraising activities

Recruiting Director

The position of Recruiting Director is a very important position. To field a successful corps we need to have a presence to the high school band programs in the Oregon and Southwestern Washington.


The responsibilities of the Recruiting Director shall include:

  • Meet with the Corps Director/Administrator and Caption Heads to establish recruiting goals for the year.
  • Communicate with Band Directors of the local schools.
  • Develop a Recruiting program to target students at Junior and High schools in the area.
  • Recruit volunteers for the Recruiting Committee.
  • Create a recruiting presentation for The Knights Drum and Bugle Corps.
  • Plan and execute the recruiting program for The Knights Drum and Bugle Corps.
  • Communicate regularly with the Corps Director, Assistant Director and Captions Heads to provide the status of recruiting goals.

Marketing Director

The Marketing Director will be responsible for positively promoting The Knights and fostering a positive public image.  The right candidate will make the public, drum corps sanctioning organization, and sponsors aware of corps fund raising, recruiting, performances, and any other corps news or activity. Reports to Corps Director/Administrator and works closely with the other Directors.


The responsibilities of the Marketing Director shall be:

  • All advertising media design, layout, finding and hiring production facilities.
  • Monitor production, proofing, and distribution of corps information.
  • Writing articles, press releases, advertising and corps literature.
  • Coordinate and contribute to production of Video Assets for the website and corps functions.
  • Provide design assistance for production of souvenir items.
  • Provide updates for corps website.
  • Get all promotions approved by Corps Director/Administrator prior to launching.

Social Media Director

The Social Media Director creates and executes content across all the organizations social media platforms to tell the story of the organization as a member of the Marketing Team. This director is responsible for creating social commentary that highlights the general projects of the Knights Performing Arts. The Social Media director is to create visionary and creative content and manage presence of the organization and connect with our fans, donors and the drum corps community around the country. The director will recruit a team to help with these projects as needed. Reports to the Corps Director/Administrator and works with the Marketing Director.


 

The responsibilities of the Social Media Director shall be:

  • Work with the Marketing Director, Manage the media team, and the organizations admin staff.
  • Work independently and in team environment to accomplish assigned tasks and projects.
  • Create and manage a content calendar.
  • Manage simultaneous project tasks and deadlines.
  • Create emotionally compelling content for a variety of audiences.
  • Be integral component in creating assigned content from conceptualization to delivery.
  • Produce high quality content on all assigned projects.
  • Research technology solutions that can add value to the organizations mission.
  • Other responsibilities as they develop based on interest areas and organization needs.

Tour Director

 Responsible for all rolling stock including buses, equipment truck, cook trailer, pit movement equipment and any other corps vehicles.  Reports to the Corps Director/Administrator, and works closely with Tour Director, and Food Service Director.


The responsibilities of the Transportation Director shall be:

  • Procurement and maintenance of all vehicles.
  • Recruit mechanics that can keep vehicles in DOT operational order and/or have shops that will perform work at a discounted rate.
  • Recruit, train drivers (or hire if needed).
  • Monitor driving records of drivers with DMV.
  • Keep insurance on all vehicles up to date.
  • Keep Tax exempt documents for fuel and maintenance purchases
  • Track money expenditures for vehicle fuel.
  • Report to Corps Director/Administrator regarding any changes in staff, schedule and or vehicle conditions.

Food Service Director

The Food Service Director is responsible for all aspects of procuring food, cooking equipment, utensils, as well as the preparation and serving of food while at camps, all days or on tour while adhering to the corps travel, rehearsal, performance and sleep schedules. Reports to the Corps Director/Administrator, and works closely with the Tour Director and Transportation Director.


The responsibilities of the Food Service Director shall be:

  • Place the health, safety and wellness of members, staff and volunteers above all else.
  • Execute weekly menu including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack.
  • Adapt menu items related to food allergies and dietary requirements for members, staff, and volunteers.
  • Preform mandatory daily and pre/post trip inspection of Cook Trailer.
  • Maintain tax-exempt membership in shopping clubs in order to purchase food and supplies in bulk while on the road.
  • Scout out and contacts supermarket along tour route.
  • Ensures the purchase of nutritious and ample food for three meals and snacks daily.
  • Maintains interior of Cook Trailer to ensure it is kept in a sanitary condition.
  • Recruits volunteers to staff the Cook Trailer while on tour and at events where food will be served to members, staff, and volunteers. 
  • Meet with Corps Director/Administrator to plan reasonably priced meals.
  • Monitor cooking and eating utensils and inform Corps Director/Administrator of supply needs.
  • Create list of needed supplies for the Corps Director/Administrator.

Equipment Director

Coordinates the storage and transport of equipment and uniforms with the quartermaster.  Reports to the Corps Director/Administrator, and works closely with the Uniform Director, Tour Director and the Transportation Director.


The responsibilities of the Equipment Director shall be:

  • Maintains all paperwork for equipment and uniforms.
  • Schedules maintenance on equipment.
  • Arrange for a shop to perform work on the corps equipment at a discounted rate.
  • Issues and maintains a list of checked out equipment.
  • Is responsible to the corps equipment inventory.
  • Reports to the Corps Director/Administrator (verbally and in writing) regarding inventory and check-out list changes.

Souvenir Director

The Souvenir Director is responsible for the marketing of all image wear and souvenir for The Knights. Reports to the Corps Director/Administrator, and works closely with the Tour Director.


The responsibilities of the Souvenir Director shall be:

  • Procurement and maintenance of all equipment to market image wear and souvenirs.
  • Recruit souvenir staff and assign staff responsibilities for each Knights performance.
  • Keep tax-exempt documents for image and souvenir purchases.
  • Communicate with DCI and Show souvenir coordinators.
  • Monitor image wear and souvenir purchases and delivery times.
  • Procure and keep resale certificates for every state the corps will be selling souvenirs.
  • Track, monitor and report  sales of all image wear and souvenirs.
  • Get all new image wear and souvenirs approved by Corps Director/Administrator.
  • Collect all money and turn over to the Corps Director/Administrator at the end of every event.

Medical Director

 This position requires a trained medical professional who would be responsible for overseeing the health of members and staff. Reports to the Corps Director./Administrator.


Qualifications:

  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Medical License  current and in good standing (MD, EMT, or RN preferred, other experience may be taken into account).
  • Able to work in a fast paced, demanding environments.
  • Able to multitask/manage multiple medical cases at once.
  • Able to work in varied rehearsal and housing environments.
  • Familiarity with Drum Corps/Performing Arts environment/health risks involved.


   The responsibilities of the Medical Director shall be:

  • Direct and manage all Medical Student Interns.
  • Present at rehearsals, camps, and while on tour.
  • Communicate to admin, caption heads, and techs any health conditions to be aware of.
  • Monitor and maintain First Aid supplies, and coordinate with admin staff for restocking.
  • Coordinate with interns  wellness checks with members and staff.
  • Respond to on-site medical needs and emergencies as needed.
  • Communicate with the Executive Director and Caption Managers concerning potential health risks. Including but not limited to weather/ environmental conditions, water breaks, excessive heat, storm conditions.
  • Actively involved with Medical staff in the infection control at all corps functions .

Athletic Trainer

 Provide onsite care and management of member injuries, including prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation. This position reports to the Medical Director.


Qualifications

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree and athletic trainer certification.
  • Current state license or proof of edibility to practice.
  • CPR/First Aid certified.
  • Evidence of professional liability insurance.
  • Be familiar with  performing arts participation.


   The responsibilities of the Athletic Trainer shall be:

  • Oversee the development and implication of an Athletic training program as required for drum corps participation.
  • Provide staff recommendations for winter conditioning and summer workout programs.
  • Provide members education in the areas of sports injury prevention and care.
  • Monitor and assist in the hydration protocols.
  • Responsible for inventory of Athletic Training supplies, communicate all supply needs to the Medical Director.
  • Apply dressings,tap0e, braces, and bandages in accordance to appropriate injury management.
  • Perform manual therapy techniques as indicated by member’s treatment plan.
  • Refer Members to physicians as necessary.
  • Provide functional assessment to determine an member’s readiness to return to full participation.
  • Track and analyze injury data and provide reports to Medical Director.
  • Maintain secure control of member’s health records and treatment plans.
